Love Handles Don’t have to be Hard to Lose

Despite the nickname given to love handles, they are not necessarily good for you. Saddle bags, or beer guts, are not a term anyone wants associated with themselves. Nobody wants to drag around a muffin top. All of these things refer to the extra weight that sits on the waistband of your pants when you gain too much weight. These extra inches are little more than fat stored by a body that is not active enough to process all of the food that it is taking in. Spending the rest of your life with these love handles however, is not necessary. There are plenty of things that you can if you want to lose weight, get in shape and fit properly into your pants.

You will need to have patience when getting rid of your love handles. Losing a lot of weight very quickly is not healthy. A slow and steady burn is a lot better for your overall health. Weeks or months could go by before you can say goodbye to that extra weight around your waist and hips. This alone, can stop people from trying. Drastic results quickly, is what most people want to see. However, you could hurt yourself if you try to do too much too soon. So be prepared to wait for your results. You will get there!

It is widely known that there are good and bad carbohydrates. Good carbohydrates (the kind that is found in gluten, fruits and vegetables) give you energy and help you get through your day. Bad carbohydrates (the kind that is found in fat and junk foods) do little more than provide your body with empty calories that it has to find a place to store. In that case you should try to lower the amount of bad carbohydrates you eat every day. It is easier for your body to use calories from good food than it does from empty calories.

Get off the couch. At least half an hour every day you should be exercising. A portion of this time should be aerobic exercise. The more time you spend sitting down and not doing much, the more weight you will pile on. To burn calories and keep the love handles away you have to exercise. Exercise will also improve your mood by releasing endorphins which help you fight stress. There are so many positive things that come from exercise. So turn off that television, put down those chips and get a move on!

Our nicknames for love handles make them sound fun and endearing. What they actually are, however, is irritating, annoying and embarrassing. I don’t know of anyone who likes it when their waist exceeds their pant size. Thankfully you do not have to live with this extra fat if you do not want to. There are lots of ways to healthfully drop inches and use up the fat that you have stored on your body. Hard work and patience will help you watch those love handles shrink.
